About Polly Pally
Well, forever Child-at-heart, a mother, a friend and an unapologetic believer in dreams
My Story
I was born and brought up in Delhi, and now I call Gurugram home—a place often called the Millennium City or the City of Gurus.
Happily married, and blessed with two beautiful daughters who inspire much of my storytelling. The idea for my first book was born from their imagination and love. I write for children and for young-at-heart adults who still believe in the magic of fairyland, who know that life is full of mysteries and quiet bits of fantasy if you only look for them.
Though as a child I’ve always wished for a pet and “Owning a pet sounds lovely—until you remember they need feeding, grooming, and patience… just like my kids without tails and only furrier.”
I love my coffee I love my coffee, enjoy meeting people and travelling. A foodie who doesn’t like to cook, (but I love eating—yum!)
Childhood
As a child, I was enchanted by Disney TV shows and the magical worlds they promised—places where Santa and the Tooth Fairy were real, where Peter Pan could fly and never had to grow up, and where adulthood felt like a faraway land. I spent my days playing outdoors, inventing games, and cherishing my one Barbie doll.
I would slip on a pair of lens-free glasses, perch myself in a cozy corner, and pretend I was a teacher—reading aloud to an imaginary class or guiding curious little minds through magical worlds hidden in books.
What inspires my tales of childhood and wonder?
I adore children and their wonderfully surprising answers to life’s questions.
I believe children deserve books that burst with humour, colour, and imagination—stories that don’t just tell tales but open the door to their own worlds of wonder. Books have always been my truest friends, giving me knowledge, joy, and comfort.
I am endlessly grateful for my family—my daughters, nieces, and nephews—who remind me every day to live happily in my own imaginative way.
